About a personal experience which involves both organizing CMC and Business promotion.
My self along with my friend who is having an Insurance Agency in fact with an office wanted to do filed marketing in a particular area. Normally they do leaflet distribution some times they do community service especially eye camp and other medical camps this time he said lets do some cultural activity.
So we decided to join hands and both Naada Varenyam and his Life insurance agency jointly planned the activity// We thought we can visit a large community living complex and then ask them for permission to conduct the cultural program.
We visited few of such apartments which has flats in the range of 200 plus families. to our surprise they all have a uniform code of action or what we call SOP. We need to first send a proposal to the association in charge in turn that person will place the proposal in the committee meeting and that has to approved.
The community hall in their premises are not free they are all for rent. Once our proposal is approved we need to send a detailed time sheet and our activity list.
Our thought plan was to conduct a open mic program for Classical Music Program coinciding with Independence Day where in a mix of devotional songs and patriotic songs can be performed by the in mates family members. we were arranging for the sound system, certificates for young participants and showcasing their performance in our you tube channel. By this activity my friend thought people will come in large numbers and participate he will have a good foot fall and can get some deals closed.
But to our surprise the rent were for the hall was very high compared with our budget. The response to open mic in the community was not as expected so the foot fall we thought would be possible was no were near. so we had to give up the idea.
Instead these communities have a umbrella stall arrangement in their common area for business promoters. This is also the vendor has to make a payment and rent a space for a day or so.
